The Wellness Club is back in action this school year with a mission to improve inclusivity and ensure that no student feels left out.
Club president, Joanna Silva (12) said, “The clubs goal is to make students feel more welcomed, supported, and connected, while also providing important resources to promote overall wellness.”
This year, the club has a potential hiking field trip in the works and the club plans on participating in Heritage Night. Red Ribbon Week will also be a highlight, with activities planned for the Friday of that week, though details are still being finalized.
The Wellness Club is also focused on raising awareness about its work and making sure students know where to go for help. The clubs’ officers hope to make the club more widely known and accessible, so every student can benefit from the resources it offers.
The club’s first meeting was held September 9 during Pride Time with Ms. Patino as the club advisor, who is filling in for Ms. Jasmine Landeros who is on maternity leave, there was an estimated number of 30 students who attended the meeting.
As a reminder, student wellness resources are available year-round in Room 47. With a new year of activities and a focus on inclusion, the Wellness Club is ready to make a positive impact on our school’s community.
