Rop Medical Health teacher Mrs. Kayla Jimenez arranged a field trip to Stanford for her students.
This field trip dedicated to only Patient Care students will take place on November 13, where buses will take students to the Stanford University School of Medicine around 8 a.m.
Patient Care students will be visiting Stanford’s Medical site where professors who work in this site will demonstrate the anatomy and physiology of the human body. After the human body is presented, medicine will be introduced to the students. Students will learn the types of medicine that exist, their purpose, and how to use each type of medicine on patients. “You’ll be able to see pro sections and cross sections of different human body parts and any type of science that they’re working on in their lab,” explained Jimenez.
This information will be introduced to students by using Anatomage tables, labs, and cadavers. Mrs. Jimenez made sure to mention, “We get to do some veterinarians, experiments on science, and everything related to medicine.”
“It’s going to benefit students, because it’s going to give them the opportunity to explore the schools of medicine and the way they work, which is just a higher level of education,” claimed Jimenez. This field trip will give students a chance to experience medicine in physical and scientific ways. This experience will offer a variety of learning methods to help students fully understand what is being taught to them. For example, there will be visual, physical, verbal, and logical learning.
