The Student Store is re-opening this semester with fresh merchandise, easier payment options, and more ways for students to show their Tiger pride. With upgrades in both products and operations, the store is aiming to become a bigger part of student life.
“At this time the student store is only open during ticket sales for dances,” said Frank Leonard, ASB Director. “During basketball season, we will open the student store at various home games for the general public. Items can be purchased through the webstore and deliveries can be made throughout the day. We will work with the commissioners to open the store periodically.”
In addition to its in-person hours, the online webstore gives students more flexibility to shop throughout the school day. This makes it easier to pick up spirit wear, class merch, or other items without having to wait in line. The store is currently led by Siena Freitas and Nichole Curutchague, who are working closely with athletics and class officers to offer a wider range of products and bring more school spirit to campus.
“We are currently working with athletics and freshman, sophomore, junior, and senior classes to promote and sell various items such as merch, croc charms, and spirit wear,” Leonard explained. “We just ordered staff spirit wear and are designing hoodies for sale. We still have a few crewnecks for purchase.”
Another new addition this year is the opportunity for school clubs to sell their own merchandise through the store. This gives clubs a new way to fundraise while making it easier for students to support the activities they care about most.
Payment options have also expanded to make shopping more accessible. Students can pay with cash, Pride Cards, or Five Star points. These options not only make it more convenient to shop but also reward students for being active on campus.
Leonard also mentioned technology upgrades to speed up checkout. “We’re barcoding all items and adding a scanner to speed up the checkout process,” he said. “We want to make it easier for everyone.”
With new merchandise, added flexibility, and exciting rebranding plans ahead, the Student Store is ready to become a favorite stop for students on campus. Be sure to visit during lunch (1:10–1:50 p.m.) on Wednesdays and Fridays to buy Homecoming tickets and check out all the new Tiger gear.
