Los Banos High School’s New Teacher, Ms. Casey

Ms. Casey has been teaching for 35 years, all over California and in Pennsylvania, but never has she taught at Los Banos High School.

From a small town in Pennsylvania, Ms. Casey enjoyed playing field hockey and participating in art and ski clubs in high school. For two and a half years, she was teaching in Pennsylvania, when she started looking for a job outside of snowy Pennsylvania to sunny California.

By the age of 25, she was living in California and educating Cali youth.  When prompted on why she came to teach in the Los Banos School District, she claimed, “My friend asked me to come teach in the Los Banos,” and she did.

Ever since Ms. Casey can remember, she wanted to be a special education teacher. “I just knew, it was placed in my heart,” stated Ms. Casey when asked. “If a student were to ever ask me if I have the advice to become a teacher, I would say go for it.”

Not only is Ms. Casey a teacher, but in her free time, she enjoys to rope and do rein work with her four horses. When asked about her favorite horse, she said it was her 31-year-old quarter horse named SugarBabe.
