On September 12, 2017, Apple held their Keynote in the Steve Job’s Theater in Cupertino, California. Every year Apple announces their new technology around this time period. This week, Apple announced the Apple Watch Series 3, Watch OS 4, Apple Tv 4K, iPhone 8 and 8 Plus, iOS 11, and the iPhone X.

The new products that Apple announced had a lot of controversies, especially with the new iPhone’s that were announced. With the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus, many people are wondering if upgrading from the iPhone 7 or 7 Plus is a worthy upgrade. Even though the iPhone X is a valuable upgrade from any device, many are holding back on it because of its price of $999. Although the new iPhone’s were controversial, the other products that were announced, Apple Tv 4k and the Apple Watch Series 3, wowed people. With the HDR mode on the apple Tv, the display will be brighter and show off beautiful colors. With the new apple watch, it now has cellular connectivity.

After viewing the Keynote online through the Apple website,  Jorge Ortiz, 12, he says that this was his first speech that he ever watched, but he found it appealing. Ortiz looks forward to the iPhone X, because it is different from previous iPhone’s, from the display to the software.

Although Ortiz looks forward to the iPhone X, he says that it is expensive, but it is worth it for those who buy it. He thinks that Apple should have made the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus a bigger upgrade. Ortiz thinks that the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus are minor upgrades, saying that he was glad with the Apple products that were announced.  He was not expecting any new products.

Ortiz thinks that Apple’s Hand-in-Hand program is working towards a good cause, helping states that have been affected by the recent hurricanes.

Roberto Martinez, 12,  was not too excited about the Apple event. Even though this was Martinez’s first online Apple Keynote, he said that every announced product was both leaked and expected. Even though Martinez knew what products were going to be announced ahead of time, he looks forward to see how the iPhone X will turn out, even though he is not going to buy it. Martinez thinks that the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus is not a worthy upgrade coming from the 6s, 6s Plus, 7, and 7 Plus because it basically adds wireless charging and that is it. Martinez hopes that the money that Apple received from its Hand-in-Hand program goes towards a good organization that will help states with the recent hurricanes.

The iPhone X is expensive, but it is worth the price, because the device has a lot of technology packed into it that a lot of other phones do not offer.

The Apple event was thrilling, especially with the announcement. Even though the days are still filled with controversies with the iPhones, they are genuinely good products that consumers are going to buy because Apple is a well-loved company.
