Stolen Bikes and Skateboards On the Rise

The number of stolen bikes and skateboards on campus has increased the last few months, leaving students and officials baffled.

Students did lock up their transportation, only to find the locks and chains cut and damaged.

“I was told that there were two bikes that have gone missing in two consecutive days,” says Ms. April Latta, learning director. The students who have reported their bikes stolen are anonymous as of now.

Ms. Latta and the Principal Gurgen are planning to take action as fast as possible. “We are going to move the bike rack and the skateboard rack inside campus near the gate sometime during Thanksgiving break or Christmas break,” Ms. Latta stated.

For the students that have bikes and skateboards, permission has been granted for them to bring them onto campus and lock them up somewhere inside.  “We are allowing students to bring their bikes and skateboards inside, until the bike and skateboard rack are moved completely inside the campus area, said Ms. Latta.

Officer Parker has been notified about the disappearances of the bikes and skateboards and authorities are taking action into the plan as well. Security Guard, Robert, has also been on the lookout for anyone suspicious near the bike area.
