Bench Memorial Honors Teacher

Colten Graham, Staff Reporter

A memorial bench was installed outside of room 23 in memory of  Mr. Bartlett who died in a car accident in 2015. The accident occurred outside of Los Banos on the Ingomar Grade causing three casualties Michael Bartlett, his father Brett Bartlett, and George Andrade.

The bench was placed in front of what was Mr. Bartlett’s room to be a reminder of his memory as a beloved math teacher.  Mr. Bartlett’s students will hopefully remember him and continue to go on to do great things.

Mrs. Veronica Seaborn worked with Mr. Bartlett for several years in the math department.  She misses his presence as a colleague and a friend.  “I’m happy that ASB purchased the bench. Mr. Bartlett was a great teacher, role model, and friend. He was a great department chair and was always willing to listen to anyone’s problems, and he never judged anyone. I still remember students getting so excited because they got to play Dance, Dance, Revolution in his class. He would always volunteer for things on campus: he did scores at the football games, he was a class advisor for the class of 2014, club advisor for the chess club, department chair, on the RCD team, taught AP classes, and tutored staff in math on the side. And those are the things I knew about, I’m pretty sure he did much more on campus. Seeing the bench reminds me of what a great man he was.”
