Happy Mickey Mouse day Tigers! November 18th marks Mickey Mouse’s 89th birthday!

It’s actually quite amazing that such a memorable character can still be relevant and known by everyone in today’s world. November 18, 1929 was the first appearance  of this iconic character in the animation ¨Steamboat Willie.¨ Ever since then this cartoon mouse has made his appearance in many other Disney animations

There’s actually a lot of interesting history behind Mickey Mouse. Did you know that Mickey’s original name was actually Mortimer?  Its pretty crazy, what’s even crazier is that Walt Disney wasn’t even the one to come up with Mickey Mouse. The idea of the cartoon mouse actually came from Ub Iwerks who pitched Disney the idea of a mouse character.

Disney created 130  animated short films using Mickey Mouse from the years 1928-1953.
