A Wonderful Thanksgiving Weekend!

Thanksgiving
Whether you enjoyed the football games, the fun of roasting a turkey for a massive meal, or painting turkeys with autumn colors, Thanksgiving is an American tradition throughout the country. Families gather together and appreciate their life and things they accomplished. To give thanks to fellow family members and friends is the greatest feeling any person can receive.
Thanksgiving was a tradition started after a successful harvest, and celebrated with Native Americans with a meal. President Abraham Lincoln soon proclaimed that the last fourth thursday of November would be a federal holiday, celebrating our ¨beneficent Father who dwelleth in the Heavens.” Throughout the decades, new traditions were incorporated like turkey as the main course meal, and football as a pastime with family.
Our teachers have their own traditions with their families. Mrs. Thacker, freshman English teacher, has her own favorite traditions and meals. She said that one of her favorite parts of Thanksgiving is,¨being able to see my family and cook a meal for them. I often see my family I often don´t see.¨
In addition, when asked about her favorite food for Thanksgiving and why, and she responded with, ¨Green Bean casserole, because it was my
mother´s favorite, and I would make it for her all the time.¨
Hope you enjoyed a wonderful Thanksgiving break, and now get ready for Christmas!
