January 22, 2018
Do you like to go to the movies? Let´s have a look at the movies to look out for coming out this year, 2018.
Blank Panther –
Release Date: Feb 16. The first solo movie that stars Chadwhick Boseman as the Blank Panther himself, after his first appearance on Captain America: Civil War. Fans fell in love with the character so the film company, Marvel Co. decided to green-lit this film.
Tomb Raider –
Release Date: Mar 16. This film stars Alicia Vikander as the Tomb Raider herself a.k.a Laura Croft. It’s no surprise that video games when turned into movies turn out awful, but not in the case of the film that came out before, it was not a disappointment. Movie goers believe this one will do as good if not better.
Pacific Rim: Uprising –
Release Date: Mar 23. This movie stars John Boyega who was seen on the last two Star Wars film and is now on another Sci-fi film. This film is set 10 years after the first film´s events, and the battles continue with mankind joining forces with AI intelligence to fight the monsters that came from underneath the bottom of the ocean.
Ready Player One –
Release Date: Mar 30. This movie is based on the book with the same title. It is directed/produced by Steven Spielberg who is widely known in the film industry so already the film is expected to be good. Revolving around a young teen, Wade Watts is playing video games and trying to find an Easter egg just like any other teen who is highly into video games. He goes inside the video games as he explores them on a virtual world experience. This film is like the Hunger Games but with video games.
Rampage –
Release Date: Apr 20. This movie stars Dwayne ¨The Rock¨ Johnson who takes on monsters after an experiment goes wrong. He plays a primatologist based on the classic 80ś video game.
Avengers: Infinity War –
Release Date: May 4. This film will star everyone from the other Avenger movies plus more stars that has been seen on a MCU film. There really is not much to say except that this movie will be the movie of all movies or movie of the year. Movie goers will be super excited to see all these characters come together and join forces. The Avengers will have to face their strongest enemy yet and will need help from the Guardians of the galaxy and Doctor Strange.
DeadPool 2 –
Release Date: May 18. The release date for this film has been pushed up from June 1 to May 18 which is honestly a better choice. Ryan Reynolds will reprise his role as Deadpool, where the antihero will return with more jokes, action, and fourth wall breaking.
Solo: A Star Wars Story–
Release Date: May 23. Just like the Avengers, there’s really nothing we can´t say about the Star Wars franchise. It always makes a bunch of money each time a new film hits theaters and that is no surprise. Personally I will only watch this film because my boy Donald Glover a.k.a Childish Gambino will be a part of the film and that is really amazing. Maybe he will sing?
The Incredibles 2–
Release Date: June 15. A decade and a half later… we finally get the sequal to one of the best Disney Pixar films. Not much is known about the plot of the film. Many are guessing that it will continue the story from the first film or that the kids will be grown up and have fully developed their powers.
Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom
Release Date: June 22. Chris Pratt will be on two Blockbuster films this year and this is one of them, what else can he do? This is the sequel to 2015´s Jurassic World. A volcano is a threat the the island, dinosaurs, and some visitors. Pratt´s character will have to save the day once again.
Ant Man And The Wasp–
Release Date: July 6. Paul Rudd will reprise his role as the Superhero, Ant Man. A newcomer, Evangeline Lilly will play a superhero sidekick to Ant Man. Many were surprised this type of film would have a sequel, but 2015´s The Ant Man did well at the box office, enough for Rudd’s character to appear in other MCU films such as this year´s Avenger: Infinity War.
Venom–
Release Date: Oct 5. As one of Spider Man’s enemies, Venom is now getting his own solo film played by Tom Hardy. No clues on how the film will work without Spiderman. My guess is that it will be like Deadpool, an antihero. Fans are hoping this film is not a disappointment as Venom’s first appearance on Spiderman 3 was not as fans wanted.
Halloween–
Release Date: Oct 19. Another remake from a classic. Movie goers are hoping this remake will be as good as the movie, IT if not better. This movie has an all female cast that includes Andi Matichak, Judy Greer, and last but not least, Jamie Lee Curtis. The plot of the film is no surprise, we just don’t know how the film is going to end up .
X-Men: Dark Phoenix–
Release Date: Nov 2. The first film that will have The X-Men in space! Now that sounds pretty exciting. The last two films in the franchise were great, and we hope this film continues on that page.
