Los Banos High School Pride

How do LBHS students show their school pride?

Lizbeth Martinez, Staff Reporter

I was set out to find how Los Banos High School students showed their school spirit and how they feel the school shows their spirit. I decided to start off at Friday’s Los Banos High vs. Hilmar football game, although the tigers weren’t looking so good, that didn’t stop the LBHS students from showing their support. From singing to the top of their lungs to chanting and supporting the football team, they wouldn’t stop.

Even with the score of 41-9, with Hilmar in the lead, the Tiger students wouldn’t stop cheering.

The LBHS students were dressed in neon as it was the theme of the football game.

I decided to interview, Perla Contreras, 11 and how she felt about the school pride at our school. “This school does a really good job at showing their school pride, like the rallies, and also how the students go and support their sports teams,” she commented.

I asked her how she showed her pride for the school and she said she plans to wear her pride shirt every Friday and she also dressed up for pride week. Pride week was on August 13 with Muscle Monday, Tropical Tuesday, College Wear Wednesday. Class colors on Thursday with freshmen wearing red, sophomores wearing yellow, juniors wearing white, and  seniors with black, lastly Friday being Tiger Pride.

At the end, Los Banos High did lose against Hilmar, but they didn’t lose their support from their schoolmates.
