Christmas Cookie Recipe for the Holiday

The time has come for families to gather around a fireplace with hot chocolate in hand with a nice warm cookie.
Add a new cookie recipe to your cookie plate this year. Here is a recipe waiting to be baked up in your kitchen perfect for the holiday season.
This recipe is called “Rolled Ginger Cookies” which is a gingerbread cookie recipe.
Here’s what you need to have in order to start baking:
1 cup shortening
1 cup granulated sugar
1 egg
1 cup molasses
2 tablespoons vinegar
5 cups sifted all-purpose flour
1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
1 1/2 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons ground ginger
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon ground cloves
First preheat oven to 375 degrees.
Cream shortening and sugar. Beat in the egg, molasses, and vinegar. Sift together dry ingredients; blend together and chill for three hours.
Roll dough 1/8 inch thick on lightly floured surface. Cut in shapes. Place 1 inch apart on greased cookie sheet. Bake at 375 degrees for 5 to 6 minutes. Cool sightly; remove to rack. Makes about 5 dozen.
