Los Banos High School’s academic decathlon team has won their third consecutive Medium Schools Title. The 2020 Merced County Academic Decathlon was held at UC Merced on Saturday February 1, 2020.

The Academic Decathlon team members are Carlos Magana, Pio Romo, Ignacio Gutierrez-Ramirez, Alexandra Fierro, Daniel Baerwaldt, Isaac Crispin, Jayson Stevenson, Arturo Fiero, and Brynn Wilkin.

In the varsity division, Jayson Stevenson won the silver medal for economics and the silver medal for science. Arturo Fiero won the gold medal in literature and the bronze medal in art. Brynn Wilkin won the silver medal in literature and the bronze medal in art, science, and music. Brynn Wilkin also got awarded a $250 scholarship.

In the scholastic division, Isaac Crispin won the silver medal in interview and economics. Daniel Baerwaldt won the silver medal in speech, math, science, and interview. Daniel Baerwaldt also got a scholarship for $500.

In the honors division, Carlos Magana won a $250 scholarship.
