How To Get Rid Of A Cold?
February 7, 2020
You may be reading the title right now and thinking, “I’d just go to the doctors.” Wrong. Well… actually right. It is always safe to go to the doctors first if you don’t know what you have. But there may be some home remedies that you can use to make your cold go away.
“I often just take medicine such as DayQuil and NyQuil and sleep it off,” Vanessa Quiroz (11) commented. Her at-home-remedy is honey with lemon. Most of the time it is effective. If that doesn’t work, the medicine knocks the sickness out.
It takes DayQuil and NyQuil thirty minutes to work after you take it. It is very effective, but other medications work just as well, such as Sudafed, Mucinex, and Robitussin. Also cough drops are effective for a cough or sore throat.
Another tip would be to be aware of who the sick people are around you. You would not want to catch something like the Coronavirus.
Some may ask “What is the Coronavirus?” The Coronavirus, also known as The 2019 Novel Coronavirus, is a new respiratory virus first identified in Wuhan Hubei, China. It causes mild illness like a cold would.
The virus spreads from some animal but has now seem to be spreading from person to person. No one knows how fast it is spreading, but it is spreading. Coronavirus cases spread very quickly from five cases to 20,000 cases in a couple of months. Currently, according to CBS report, there are over 28,000 cases of this virus. Many have died. Recent cases has shown up in California, in particular San Francisco, Santa Clara, and Los Angeles areas.
The Coronavirus could be around for another month or a year. No cure has been found yet for this new virus. Experts are trying hard to cure the new found virus as it seems to be spreading vastly.
The only way to prevent yourself from getting this new virus is to avoid being exposed to it. If you feel sick, go to the doctors and take medicine immediately. Remember to eat healthy, drink plenty of liquids, and get enough rest to keep your body functioning well during the last few weeks of winter.
