Varsity Boys Soccer Begins Season
New Soccer Coach Hired
October 21, 2016
The LBHS boys soccer team has many new changes happening this year.
First, the season begins at a new time of year. Soccer changed from a fall sport to a winter sport. Second, the team now has a new soccer coach named Mr. Paul Sevier. Sevier is said to be a revolution to LBHS soccer for his contribution to the soccer team financially as well as encouraging and playing the game with the players.
This hands-on approach makes him well-liked among the team. He has received multiple donations from the community for the soccer team. Although he is talked good about he says, “This should be about the players not me.”
There are several other new items in store for soccer this year. This is the first time in LBHS boys soccer history that every player had the grades to play soccer and the first year that soccer will play at the football stadium, instead of the campus field.
Everything that the boys soccer team has achieved this year has surpassed many expectations. Out of 33 players trying out for the varsity soccer team, 28 went through try-outs and all made grades. Seventeen people made the varsity soccer team and the other students are waiting for a JV coach to be hired.
