One Size Fits Fall

It’s that time of year where we start to put away or summer clothes and bring out our warm fall clothes. Fall has arrived which means Halloween and Thanksgiving are only around the corner.

When it comes to fall, so many things change. Stores start to bring out the decorations, restaurants and fast food places bring out seasonal foods, and the weather starts changing. Instead of those super hot summer days, it slowly changes into those chilly, gloomy days. The leaves on the trees start changing and, before you know it, the leaves are completely off the trees.

Different things pop up into people’s minds when they think about fall. Some may think about the food, while some may think about the decorations.“The first thing that pops into my mind when it comes to fall is, Starbucks, scary movies, dressing cute, candles, the cloudy weather, and dark colors,” says Madisen Menke.

Halloween and Thanksgiving are teo of the more popular holidays in the fall. Who doesn’t love getting an enormous amount of candy and being able to eat all day? Even though they are two great holidays, some people just prefer one holiday over the other.

Cassandra Augustine said, “I prefer Thanksgiving because I love eating, and my mom goes all out for Thanksgiving.”

Kiara Azevedo, on the other hand says, “ I prefer Halloween because it’s a night of freedom, and I get to hang out with my friends.”

Family traditions also play a role in holidays. For example, Joleena Farrulla said, “ We always do a little bible study for Thanksgiving before we eat.”

Alyssa Hernandez stated, “For Thanksgiving, we always have family dinner at my house.”

Fall is a very unique season. You have a season that gives you a holiday where you can hang out with friends and get free candy, then you also have another holiday that gives you a whole day to eat and spend time with your family.
