Football Team Prepares For Cross-Town Clash

It’s finally Friday and we all couldn’t be happier. But for some of us, it’s also game day. Today is the cross-town-clash football game with the Pacheco Panthers.

It’s one of the biggest games of the year and our Tigers have been preparing for it. With our Varsity Tigers being 3-1 and the Panthers being  3-1 in WAC, we can look forward to a very exciting game.

To prepare for the big game, Senior Chris Silva, says he tries to watch as much film as he can, stays focused all week, and does exactly what he is told by his coaches.

“A big key for tonight is for everyone to do their job and their job only,” says Silva. “We need to win all three phases of the game and that’s offense, defense, and special teams.”

Everyone has their own personal things they do to prepare themselves and Senior Kevin Carter says he listens to music all day to stay focused. “This is the biggest game of the year. We always want to beat our cross town rival,” says Carter.

The game is also very important to all of the fans. ASB has been preparing for this game and the theme for the Tiger Pride section will be a White Out. There will also be neon powder so if you plan on sitting in this area, wear white to show off that neon or watch out because that stuff gets messy!

JV starts at 5 and Varsity starts at 7. Come out and support the boys!
