Our very own David Herrera has been titled Offensive  of the year by WAC league coaches.

The junior QB recorded 1,358 passing yards, 19 passing touchdowns, 952 rushing yards, and 14 rushing touchdowns in 11 games.  This is Herrera’s second year of varsity which he led the Tigers to a 8-3 record and 7-0 record in league titling them the WAC champions of the 22-23 season.

Not only is Herrera a star on the field, this student athlete has a 4.5 GPA. Herrera and the Tigers had overcome a lot of adversity this year, a lot of people had doubted the Tigers believing they were not going to have a good season this year. He lead a powerful offense that can run the ball and pass; Herrera is a dual threat QB at only 16 years old. The Dual threat QB lead the Tigers into playoffs versus Buhach Colony where they had a shootout with a score of 64 Buhach and Los Banos falling to them with 48 points.

When asked about this upcoming season and past season, Herrera said, “I feel good about this upcoming season actually, as we have a lot of our talent coming back to the team. I like the upcoming juniors that we have as they are dedicated and willing to put in the work so I have high hopes and think that we can be back to back WAC CHAMPS. As for this past season I was proud of what we accomplished as we proved everyone wrong and came out on top of the league, I was disappointed with how we finished the season because I know we could have done more. But overall happy with last season and what we accomplished.”

The Junior is now preparing for his senior year where he would play a bigger role for the Tigers in the 23-24 season,
