Varsity Softball Season Is Underway

A whole new year has begun and with that brings a new season for the girls varsity softball at Los Banos High School.

The new season is nearly underway, but Los Banos has begun their campaign this season already with two scrimmages against Atwater and Le Grand in which they won 3-2 against Atwater and 5-4 against Le Grand.

Tigers varsity softball starts off the season positively before league, non-league and tournaments start to kick off.

The players are excited for this new season with a new team and a new journey.  Senior Varsity players Haliee Moore and Kennyzza Hernandez give their thoughts on this team for this season, “This team has the potential it needs to make it far in the league, we just got to work hard and earn it.” 

Junior student athlete Isabel Orozco said, “I’m looking forward to playing this season and am excited to show my skills with my team.”

The official season for softball begins this week at Central Valley on the February 24 at 3:30 pm.

The first home game is against Hilmar which is on February 27 at 3:30 pm, just three days after their first game. The first couple of games of the season are indeed non-league games which makes the game on March 16 against Beyer the first league game for Los Banos.
