The excitement of Senior Best voting is officially coming to an end. One of the most anticipated traditions featured in the yearbook.
Senior Best gives students the opportunity to recognize their peers for the qualities that make them stand out. The voting process also allows the senior class to reflect on the memories, personalities, and connections.Kayla Celestine (12) one of the editors in yearbook said, “Senior best is a great way to evaluate how we all perceive our peers best qualities and I think it shows a sense of community and recognition on our campus for everybody”.
Being in charge of Senior Best is a big responsibility and a lot of work, from creating the forms, calculating every vote per student, and transferring information back and forth. Celestine said, “It was a bit exhausting but it’s worth it to make sure everything was fair.”
Joshua Gargano (12) and Johnny Escobar (12) are students who were running for Best Bromance but were nominated for multiple categories, such as best smile, most spirited and most creative. Escobar said, “We are a good fit for the best bromance because no matter what we will stick by each other’s side.” Gargano and Escobar have been friends since they were about nine years old.
Another student, Zitlali Olivares (12) was running for Most Changed since freshman year and was not nominated for anything else. Olivares believes she was the best fit for the category because she’s changed a lot about herself intentionally. Olivares said, “Since freshman year I have worked on a lot of outer appearance as well as inner changes, and overall changing my attitude towards people, socializing and making new friends.” She’s glad people feel the same way about being most changed and is happy everyone nominated her as well.
As we all move forward, the recognition from these polls will be set as a reminder of their unique contributions and the lasting impact they’ve made on their peers. Here are the lists of winners.
