Senior Assassin has become one of the most talked-about games among seniors this year, but it has also changed how many students go about their daily lives. The popular game involves students trying to “eliminate” their assigned targets using water guns. While it sounds simple, the competition has made many seniors extra cautious when leaving their homes or going out in public.
Many players now wear swimming goggles wherever they go because they count as protection in the game. If a player is wearing goggles, they cannot be eliminated. As a result, it’s common to see seniors walking into stores, hanging out with friends, or even driving around with goggles on.
Senior Raul Diaz said the game has made him more alert than ever. “I can’t even go to the gas station without checking my surroundings,” Diaz said. “You never know who might be waiting for you.”
Mia Duran says the game has forced her to limit how often she goes out. “I’ve definitely stayed home more,” Duran explained. “If I’m not wearing goggles, I feel like someone could pop out at any moment.”
Angel Valerio says the goggles have become part of his everyday routine. “I keep them in my car and sometimes just wear them if I’m running a quick errand,” Valerio said. “It looks funny, but it keeps me in the game.”
AJ Valencia agrees that the competition has made seniors more cautious. “Everyone’s on high alert,” Valencia said. “It’s fun, but you definitely have to think twice before going anywhere.”
Despite the paranoia, many seniors say the game adds excitement to their final months of high school and creates lasting memories with friends.
