Senior Karley Rocha has officially committed to Oklahoma State to study Animal Science Production.
Oklahoma State was not one of her top choices when she started narrowing down her options. “I actually didn’t want to go there at first, but my parents forced me to tour, and I loved it,” Rocha further explained.
She has always really enjoyed animal science related topics and classes. “I have always known that I want to major in animal science,” Rocha stated explaining her interest towards animals.
Seeing the campus in person made Rocha realize how she can see herself there. On top of the beautiful campus, she was drawn to the school spirit and atmosphere.
Moving out of state is a new challenge for Rocha, with her main concern being so far away from her home. “It was very difficult to choose, but I know I made the right choice,” stated Rocha excited about the upcoming four years.
Rocha has shown interest in agriculture from early on and already has diverse experience. Her love for agriculture and animals has grown through her involvement in FFA. In addition to showing a large variety of animals and being on National and International competing Dairy Judging teams. She served as the 2024-2025 Chapter Secretary for FFA.
Rocha has also been involved in the dairy industry by becoming the 2025-2026 District 4 Dairy Princess. It has allowed her to inform younger children about the diary industry and Real California Seal through school visits and public events.
Rocha does not yet have a clear plan made for after her four years at Oklahoma State. “I am not sure exactly what I want to do after college but something in agriculture for sure,” she expressed with an optimistic mind.
Good luck on the next chapter Rocha. Go Pokes!
