Spring break has always been a time for students to relax and recharge, but for seniors, it carries a deeper meaning. As the final break before graduation, it often brings a mix of excitement and reflection. Isabella Guerra captured this feeling best, saying, “It’s bittersweet because this would be my last spring break as a high schooler and the realization of how serious life gets hit me during the break.”
When asking seniors about their opinions on their last break before the school year ends, a variety of perspectives emerged. However, a common theme stood out: many described the experience as both exciting and sad. As a senior myself, I can confidently say that the realization that this is truly our last year of high school doesn’t fully set in until the end draws near.
High school has provided students with countless opportunities to grow, learn, meet new people, and build lasting relationships over the past four years. For some, spring break highlighted just how impactful those experiences have been. One senior, Maliyah Salas, shared, “For spring break I got to visit Japan with the school. It was a once in a lifetime experience that I got to have for my senior year and it left a great impact on me, making me want to go again. It made my senior year even more special.”
Experiences like these show how meaningful high school can be, offering opportunities that students may carry with them for the rest of their lives. At the same time, this final spring break serves as a reminder that graduation is quickly approaching.
