Jason Luo (12) is an eighteen year old senior who moved from Guangzhou, China to the United States with his parents. Moving to a new country is not easy, but Luo has handled it very well. He’s a very funny person and likes to talk to everyone. He thinks life is simple and tries not to stress too much, which helps him stay in a good mood.
One thing people notice about Luo is how easy he is to get along with. He likes having conversations and meeting new people. Because of that, he was able to fit in at school. He says that people at school are very nice, including his teachers and classmates.
Luo said, “Donovan is my classmate and has been helping me a lot and talks to me everyday.”
Luo likes playing sports in his free time. He plays basketball, football, table tennis, pickleball, and badminton just for fun. He says his favorite sport out of all of those is basketball. Playing sports helps him relax and hang out with friends, since he is an only child.
Even though he likes playing sports, Luo takes school seriously. In his free time, he does his homework and reads English books to get better at the language. He also watches movies and videos in English so he can understand it more. Learning a new language isn’t easy, but he’s trying to improve every day.
After high school, Luo wants to go to college and study medicine. He wants to become a medical assistant so he can help families and make sure they get the care they need. He cares about this goal and wants to make his family proud.
Luo is a hardworking and positive student who is doing his best and making the most of his new life in the U.S.
