The next two years are set to unfold at Modesto Junior College for Gavin Estrada (12), who has officially declared his commitment to join the incoming freshman class.
After Estrada took a visit to the Modesto College, he got to explore and make his decision. Estrada said, “The coaches, the players, the atmosphere and the development there helped me pick to go there.”
As for most students it’s a big roller coaster of emotions throughout the process and a lot of challenges to face, such as the decision making in general. But Estrada said, “It felt great when I committed and I was very excited.”
Through the journey to Modesto College for Estrada he was not alone. He gives credit for their support and guidance to coaches who played an important role, offering not only athletic advice but also valuable lessons. The belief and encouragement they put into him helped him a lot. As well as teachers also provided support, and their dedication to offering advice with his development. Although he is very appreciative of his teachers and coaches, he thanks his mom for being there for him every step of the way and always supporting him.
Estrada hopes to later on transfer to Fresno State. He said, “I hope this college experience helps me become an even better person, student and player to be able to go to Fresno State.”
Estrada would like to remind all underclass-men to “work hard, stay in school, and turn in work on time.”
