Graduate Returns as New Teacher

Ian Jordan, Staff Reporter

Mrs. Jeanette Menezes graduated from Los Banos High in 2004.  Little did she know that she would be back 13 years later teaching a newer generation of Tigers. Mrs. Menezes has been with  Los Banos High school for about seven years working as an aid for the school. This is her first year hired as a teacher, currently teaching Advantage classes.

Being a student at Tigers was an enjoyable experience for Mrs. Menezes and following her graduation in 2004, she went on to be a freshmen at CSU Stanislaus, majoring in Liberal Studies. Outside of the classroom, she enjoys photography, camping, and traveling.

This year Mrs. Menezes wants to, of course help her students understand their academic materials, but she also wants to help them achieve what she calls a “growth mindset.”  This involves teaching students to think positive when learning and to not be discouraged when they get something wrong. Growing your mind is just as important as getting good grades.

If you see Mrs. Menezes on campus, be sure to welcome her to our school
