Mr. Garcia anticipates newer, updated textbooks to help with his AP Stats classes.

This school year, the math department at Los Banos High School  has made some changes. Many changes include curriculum, classes, and teachers teaching different courses.  Teachers are ready, but a few glitches exist, especially for AP Stats.

Mr.Garcia, the AP Statistics teacher said that he was surprised when the administration asked him to teach the class, because the class was previously run by Ms.Baskar. Since this is Mr.Garcia’s first year of teaching AP Stats, he spent most of his summer at UC Riverside going over AP Stats. Mr. Garcia even graded some AP Stats tests to see what type of questions and subject matter would be important for students to know and prepare for during the year.

Even though Mr.Garcia has only been teaching the class for about two weeks, he is starting to get the hang of it and looking forward to the rest of the year. In addition, Mr. Garcia’s classes will receive newer, updated textbooks that are recommended by the college board for students to have a higher test score on the AP Stats test this May.

Also, class size is a concern for most teachers.  Garcia said that he expected the class to be smaller, but he didn’t mind the students that are in the class because they are well behaved.
