Camp Green Meadows is ready for you!

Jorge Ortiz, Staff reporter

It is time for Camp Green Meadows again.  Elementary schools are looking for camp leaders to help their students have a successful camp week.

Interested students should sign up with Mr. Bencomo at the attendance office. Students will be chosen according to their GPA, attendance, and behavior. Mr. Bencomo will look for the “overall as a student.” when he chooses the leaders.  Students will be called to his office to meet so he can have a personal evaluation to help him make a final decision.

“Going to this trip is very rewarding,” says Mr. Bencomo.

From the fun activities and interactions with naturalists, leaders will gain great experience from this event. As a cabin leader students learn how to take charge and interact with everyone. “I learned to be more responsible,” says David Flores, senior who has been to Camp Green Meadows.

At the end of the week, students will get an evaluation from the naturalists about their leadership strengths and weaknesses throughout the week. This can be used for colleges and for letters of recommendations. Students will also learn more about the wilderness and about the world in general. It is like a vacation, job and school all in one.
