Interact Club carries on the tradition of Soctober Drive, collecting socks for the homeless.

The Interact Club held a Socktober fundraiser last month.  The members collected 560 pairs of new socks for the homeless.  The donated socks will go to the local Salvation Army center and a woman’s shelter in Fresno where some of the child socks can be used.

The Club presidents, Seniors Katie Menefee and Lauren McCullough were pleased with the number of socks collected.  “I am so excited that our first fundraiser of the year was successful.  It feels good to help others and to make a difference for someone, even if it’s just socks,”  said McCullough.  “I love that we are making a change, one sock at a time,”  Menefee said.

The next fundraiser, Candy Cane Gram will start in December and run for one week.  The Interact Club would like to raise money in order to purchase Christmas gifts for children from the Angel Tree.  The candy canes will be sold for one dollar and will be on sale during break at the MPB room for one week in December.  The grams will be delivered December 13 and 14.
