From clapping to jumping to reach a $20 bill, the students of Los Banos High got to hear a motivational speech from Andres Lara, the Cuban Guy.

Los Banos High got a boost of motivation and determination from Mr. Lara, the techniques he taught were able to give a great understanding. Mr. Lara started off the session with some exercises, the students would have to remember a specific order of clapping. They were then told to find a neighbor and use the clapping techniques with them. Students were laughing and having a great time as most of them were messing up every time.

Mr. Lara followed with, “Who would like to make some money today?” That caught the students attention really fast as all of them raised their hand and screamed, “Me!” People were entertained by what Andres had to say about earning money and having the motivation to earn money. He told us how he escaped from Cuba as a 12-year-old boy and was homeless for a short time.

Joel Garcia, a senior, said,”I think The Cuban Guy is a great role model to everyone and now I’m gonna walk away with some great knowledge.”  Mr. Lara definitely had a positive impact on the students of Los Banos High School.
