Staff Reporter, Brandon Rodriguez

On February 4th, 2018, Justin Timberlake will be performing at the Super Bowl halftime show in the U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

It will be the third time that Timberlake has performed at this event, following his controversial performance in 2004 when he ripped off a part of Janet Jackson’s clothing revealing her breast.

Although people do not exactly know what Timberlake will be performing during his 15 minute performance, people expect him to perform new songs that he has been releasing throughout the past few weeks. Even though it is not confirmed, people are saying that he is going to bring a guest to perform alongside him or he is going to pay a tribute to Prince.

Elena Gutierrez, senior, believes that the the Super Bowl will be amazing this year. Gutierrez said, “I hope he performs songs that he released this year.”

Although Gutierrez does not like to watch football, she, along with many Americans, only watch the halftime show. Gutierrez stated, “I hope he redeems himself from his performance a couple years ago.  Although his performance was good a couple years ago, I wasn’t expecting it to take such a drastic turn.”

Another senior, Hannah Vera said that she does not expect much from this Super Bowl performance if Justin Timberlake performs his new songs. Vera stated, “I hope he sings songs that he released in his previous years, because I don’t enjoy his new songs.” She thinks that the Super Bowl performance would be better if Justin Timberlake brings guest performers to perform alongside him.

Super Bowl is this Sunday, February 4 at 3:30 between the New England Patriots and the Philadelphia Eagles.
