Snapchat Update Upsets Users

Snapchat had an update that totally changed the app. Teens at LBHS are not very happy with this new update at all. The update has everything in a cluster so users can do more things on one screen instead of having to swipe a lot. The stories and chat are together on the left while only popular stories and sponsors are on the right.

Teens are shouting out things like,”Ugh, I hate this new update.” Senior Joel Garcia says, ”I don’t like the fact that random people that I don’t even know I had on snapchat pop up when I try to snap someone.”

Since the stories and chats are together on the left the order is constantly changing. Random people go to the top of the list that users have never talked to, while others are pushed to the bottom of the list. The camera stays exactly the same though. Snapchat users are also unable to slide down anymore, so they have to tap on a little picture to get to settings and account picture. Snapchat did this to easily access anything on snapchat in just one tap. Also popular stories are easier to find so anyone can see what most people are watching on snapchat. These are mostly famous people and snapchat sponsors.

Teens are spreading the word quickly on how to get the ”normal snapchat” back by ending a screenshot explaining how to go back before this update and testing it out for themselves. However, this trick is not working for everyone and some are left with this new update.
