Swim Season Starting

Luke Young and Colten Graham

Spring sports have started and that includes swim! So let’s get ready to dive right in!

Swim practices have started last week and if you missed the meeting no need to worry, we have all the information you need.  The team practices on Monday through Friday at 5:30 to 7:00 p.m.unless said otherwise by Mr. Guintini or as many call him, Coach Drew.

Coach Drew states, “I hope you guys achieve personal best times, have fun while doing it, and win WAC this year.”  He also says that he is “Happy to be with all you guy. Happy to be back.”

Unlike other sports like football or baseball, our high school swim team has many athletes and will take anyone in with no need for tryouts. Of course most people who join have had some experience like Tiger Sharks or Skimmers.

Douglas Wallace is an active swim member. Douglas started swimming in second grade when he was six years old.  He states his favorite thing about swim is “swimming in general, it’s one of my favorite things.”

Swim is probably one of the most competitive sports out there, and we encourage everyone to try out so if you consider joining, we suggest you show up before time trials which are on Wednesday, February 21.

Hopefully we can repeat what we did last year and win WAC once again and have lots of fun while doing it! Wishing luck to all swimmers on the team!
