2018 iHeartRadio Music Awards

The iHeartRadio music awards was televised on March 11, 2018 at The Forum in Inglewood, California.

The iHeartRadio was founded on April 2008 as a website, but than later turned into a music award. The company, iHeartRadio, nominates artists from the year before and their top hits and best songs, in which fans vote for the nominees. Fans vote for their nominees in one of two ways, which consist of voting online through the iHeartRadio Music Awards, or voting via social media accounts, like Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook. In order to vote, you must be a resident in the U.S., Australia, Canada, and New Zealand, in which you only have 50 votes. The voting window usually opens early January and ends early March.

The performers at the iHeartRadio Music Awards were Cardi B, Eminem, Ed Sheeran, Bon Jovi, Maroon 5, Camila Cabello, and Charlie Puth.

Destiny Caudillo, senior, said, “I didn’t expect the performances to be this amazing.” Caudillo said that she is in love with Cardi B, especially when she gave her acceptance speech. Caudillo said that her favorite performance was by Cardi B. Caudillo stated, “I didn’t think that she would perform No Limit with G-Eazy, it was amazing.”

Manuel Martinez, senior, said that he enjoyed watching Eminem’s performance. “I liked how he brought up the issue with the Florida shooting during his performance.” Martinez said that he was looking forward to Eminem because he knew that Eminem was going to do something extra, “It’s Eminem,” he said, “of course he would do something like that.”
