The Madness Is Over!

March Madness is over.  There were a total of 68 teams that participated in the NCAA tournament. There were many great match ups and a few heartbreaking upsets that occurred both early in the bracket and late.

The first upset of the tournament was No. 1 seed Virginia losing to No. 16 seed UMBC.  This type of upset has never happened before which caused so many people to be in shock. UMBC was on fire that night and Virginia just could not handle the heat.

One of the biggest surprises was the Loyola Ramblers making it all the way to the final four. Their journey was not easy, but the team fought through every game and gave it their all. The Ramblers first two games were nail biters and kept fans on their toes, they barely took the wins by defeating their opponents by two and four points.

Loyola’s next matchup was against Kansas St. They made that game look like a breeze, beating them by over 10 points. Sadly, after their next game, it was the end of the journey but the start of something new for the skilled team.

Now down to the top dogs,  No.1 Villanova vs. No.1 Kansas. This championship game was a great match up because they were both very talented and played with everything they had. The game was close for the most part, and some fans would even say they were doubting the team in favor, No.1 seed Villanova. Within the last minutes of the game, Kansas fell short. Villanova was named the 2018 NCAA champions. The final score was 95-79.
