On April 3, 2018, a shooting happened at the Youtube Headquarters in San Bruno California by a woman named Nasim Najafi Aghdam.

Aghdam shot three people at the Youtube headquarters before shooting herself. The only person involved was Aghdam. As of April 16, officials can not find Aghdam’s motives towards the shooting. Although it is not confirmed, it is believed that Aghdam shot the victims, because she was a Youtube creator, and she was targeting the company. Aghdam had reportedly that Youtube employees were reducing her views on her videos.

On the night of April 2, 2018, police confronted Nasim Najafi Aghdam, who was sleeping in her car. The reason for this was because Aghdam’s family reported her missing and also told the authorities that Aghdam needed medicine and was not mentally stable.

Aghdam was found in her vehicle in a parking lot located in Mountain View. Aghdam’s was at that point hundreds of miles away from home but only 30 miles from the Youtube Headquarters. Police said that Aghdam was “calm” and “cooperative.”

She gave no sign of violence and after a 20 minute confrontation, the police left her alone to sleep in her car. Before leaving, a police officer asked a question that will haunt him forever. “Do you plan on hurting anyone or hurting yourself,” said the officer. She politely and quietly said no making this situation way more cynical.

Oscar Flores (11) said, “Wow, that story left me in shock. How can someone be so evil and cruel, and what makes me even more devastated is how the police that confronted her must feel. They had the criminal right in front of them but had no clue.”

Sabrina Vera (10) stated, “It’s surprising that there have been so many shootings in the past years. I find it even more surprising that there was a shooting in Google of all places.” She continued saying that there has been multiple shootings throughout the past, and although it is difficult to predict them, people should be able to counter the shooter.
