Jorge’s Tiger Den: Recap NFL Draft

Jorge Sanchez Jr, Staff Reporter

This week on the Tiger Den, I will be recapping the NFL Draft.

A lot of interesting things happened in this draft, one being the Browns took Baker Mayfield with the 1st overall pick and with their 4th overall pick they messed with a lot of people’s mock drafts by taking the corner out of Ohio State University Denzel Ward.

The New York Jets ended up getting their dream QB in Sam Darnold falling in their hands. That left UCLA QB Josh Rosen falling to the 10th pick and the Arizona Cardinals traded up with the Oakland Raiders.

So they can get the Quarterback they needed, The San Francisco 49ers ended up taking Notre Dame Tackle Mike McGlinchey. As a 49ers fan, I am not disappointed with them thinking about the future because Joe Staley is in his prime years ready to retire. So they addressed the tackle position but they took the best players available in the later rounds also address positions needed.

Overall every team had a good draft even with the Baltimore Ravens taking Louisville QB Lamar Jackson with the last pick of the 1st round.

Now that the drafts are out of the way, teams now hold rookie camps for the undrafted free agents. The month of May will consist of mandatory workouts and training camps. The NFL season is just around the corner, so all I can say now is I hope your teams perform well this upcoming season.
