Grad Night 2018 at Disneyland

On May 29, seniors traveled to the happiest place on earth to celebrate their graduation.

Seniors arrived to the MPB by 6:30 a.m. They reviewed safety procedures and rules and proceeded through a check point before getting onto charter buses, departing around 7:30 a.m. There was a pit stop in Bakersfield and then they arrived at Disneyland by 2 p.m. After students were cleared through the Disneyland check point, seniors were free to go to Disneyland or California Adventure.  They were recommended to go to Disneyland because at 10:00 p.m., grads had the California Adventure park all to themselves. They stayed in the park until 1:30 a.m. Seniors did not go to school on Wednesday.

We asked seniors what they were excited to do the most when they spend the day at Disneyland and California Adventure. Gabriel Cervantes said, “I really want go on Indiana Jones Adventure; last time I went it was closed.”

Marty Vasquez said, “I haven’t been to Disneyland since I was 5. I really want to see all the Star Wars stuff and ride the Star Wars rides.” Disney now has ownership of Marvel and Star Wars, which means there will plenty of attractions that fans of those franchises can enjoy.

Anthony Campos said,  “I’m excited to go to both Disneyland and California Adventure, but I’m more excited for California Adventure because at night it will be open only for high school seniors. I went last summer, and it was so busy I could barely go on any rides, plus the new Guardians of the Galaxy ride was closed.” It goes as no surprise that seniors are excited to have an entire theme park to themselves.

Roberto Martinez said that it is going to be his first time going to Disneyland. “I literally don’t know what to expect. I’m excited to go but I’m also nervous.” He also talked about how he is excited to be able to go with his friends rather than going to visit new places with his family.

Elena Gutierrez said it will be her third time going to Disneyland. “Although I’ve gone multiple times, I’m excited to go this time because I mainly go with my family and not my friends.” Gutierrez also said that she is excited to go to California Adventure because she had never been to that part of the amusement park.

Seniors had a successful trip, and now look forward to graduation.  Congrats to the Class of 2018.
