PBIS End-of-Year Celebration

Ian Jordan, Staff Reporter

On May 21, Los Banos High School held their second PBIS Celebration for the year.

This celebration was for over 700 students who did not receive any disciplinary action for the fourth quarter. If students were invited to the celebration,  they received a ticket voucher for two free tacos from the Taco truck the school had commissioned.  There were game and activities for the students to partake in also such as tug-of-war, mechanical bull riding, corn hole, and baseball. The school had also rented two different bouncy castles.

The celebration also let the invited students have an extended lunch while the uninvited students had to spend extra time in their 5th period classes and do the normal PBIS lesson. The uninvited students had a lesson on proper cell phone usage in both school and outside of school. Teachers went over how to minimize cell phones as a distraction in school and the potential dangers of modern cell phone use in everyday life. Specifically, the dangers of taking or giving nude photographs of yourself or others to people or students through cell phones. Most students in high school, usually underclassmen, are under the legal age of 18, and anyone caught distributing or having photographs of an underage child (even if you are underage yourself) can be sent to prison for possession of child pornography. Please be safe with your bodies and make smart choices.
