Swim Season Ends

Luke Young and Colten Graham

Congratulations to the Los Banos High School swim team on winning WAC!  The swim team has won WAC for three years straight and has been undefeated this whole season.  This was a season to remember, especially if Coach Drew Guintini retires.

The swimmers that qualified for sections this year were Ezra Gonzalez (9), Ryan Tuft (10), Jorge Torres (10), Luke Young (11), and Colten Graham (11). Although no swimmers qualified for the second day, the morale was high for the entire trip. Ezra Gonzalez, (9) said, “I would like to qualify to swim sections by myself individually next year.  I enjoyed the team bonding and the car ride for sections was fun.”

After sections, the whole sections team went out to eat at Sizzler’s with Coach Giuntini.

“This sections was by far the most eventful and enjoyable sections I have ever personally attended, regardless of performance every one tried their best, and we all set are personal records. I believe next year are team will do even better next year,” said Colten Graham, (11).

During the sports awards, Douglas Wallace, Ryan Tuft, and Carson Brizzee all received a Coach Award for their performance.

“This has by far been my greatest year of swim. My fellow junior class teammates and I will be seniors next year, and it makes me sad I will only be able to do one more season of this. I hope senior year of swim will top this year by a landslide, and that we’ll make the most of it,” said Luke Young, (11).

It is sad that we had to say goodbye to three seniors this year, Kendra Gerstenberg, Karissa Espinoza, and Erik Scott.
