Coronavirus in the lives of society.

Liset Prado, Staff Reporter

The Coronavirus has been on the minds of several people lately due to the severity of the situation. They are being advised to self-quarantine to prevent the spread of the virus and to wash their hands to protect themselves.

One place that has been very serious about the Coronavirus is Disneyland, which has closed its parks worldwide. The last Disneyland that closed was in Anaheim, California on March 14. The park was less populated than usual due to the fear of the virus, but the park did provide more sanitation stations to those who still went for the day that it was open to the public.

Lately in the news, the NBA has been suspended due to some of their basketball players, including Rudy Gobert and Donovan Mitchell who contracted the coronavirus. The NCAA has also announced that all basketball tournaments would be played without any fans. Once they are out of the hiatus, then the NBA will begin discussing how they will return after the panic is over.

To stay safe from the virus, it is advised that individuals maintain a proper sanitary routine with keeping hands clean at all times. Some symptoms of the coronavirus are coughing, fever, and difficulty breathing. If you have been exposed then it is recommended that you avoid public places and contact with people.

Many cities all over the world have already started feeling the consequences of the virus like schools closing, grocery markets running out of products, loss of jobs, loss of housing, and complete indoor isolation.

For example, the Bay Area in California has put in place complete isolation where residents are only allowed to leave their houses if they need to visit the doctor or go grocery shopping. When it comes to outdoor activities like running, hiking or walking, you are allowed to be with someone as long as they are six feet away from you. Violation of the health order can lead to a misdemeanor.

Make sure to take care and to be an active member in trying to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.
