Fun Family-Friendly Winter Activities to do Indoors

Ruth Fuentes, Staff Reporter

Winter has arrived. There is nothing more exciting than spending some family time, and what another perfect way than doing indoor activities. Here are some fun family-friendly winter indoor activities, you should try.

With the cold weather, there is no better way than going with the basics. Baking/cooking is a well-known tradition and helps families spend time together baking/cooking your favorite foods and desserts. Some ideas you can try out are M&M Christmas cookies, Frozen Cake Balls, or a Gingerbread House. They will not only warm your house but also leave it smelling tasty and festive.

Another idea is to stay simple and watch winter classic movies, such as Home Alone, The Grinch, Hachi: A Dog’s Tale, or The Polar Express. Or watch ones like Dolittle, Noelle, Onward, or Frozen 2, with your favorite pj’s and blanket and a bucket of fresh warm popcorn.

Also, watching newly released movies are a fun way to spend time with each other indoors.  Here a list of some movies released in 2020, that you should consider watching:
Mulan (2020)
The Witches (2020)
Soul (2020)
Sonic (2020)
Wonder Woman 1984 (2020)
Over the Moon (2020)
The Croods: A New Age (2020)

As much fun and delicious as these activities are, sometimes it’s just best to get your hands dirty. Arts and crafts is a good way to do so. A very fun pastime to do with anyone.  Here are a few at home arts and crafts that you can spend some time with family and friends. First,  try to make a snow globe.  It’s unique structure will fill your house with wonder. Or you can try making snow wool balls, a painted snowman, or even a water bottle igloo. Other things to make could include beautiful jewelry, like bracelets, necklaces, or earrings.  These activities will be a team effort, and what better way to show it than with your family.

There are many ideas on the internet or at your local stores.  Take time during the next few weeks to do something together.
The winter has begun, and with it, we can always bring a little joy.
