Spring Activities: Beaches

Stephanie Sandoval, Staff Reporter

One of the best spring activities to do when feeling bored is to go to the beach. There are even COVID safe ways to enjoy some fun beach time.

Although COVID-19 has prevented everyone from doing all the fun things they love and enjoy doing for almost a year now, there are safe ways to go about enjoying fun activities again. One of the best things about the beach is that it’s huge and outside. During this pandemic time, it is important to always stay outside when going out to public places and social distancing. Going to the beach is one way to combine a great day full of excitement and relaxation along with all the safety protocols necessary to have a safe trip.

Now that the weather is starting to heat up little by little, it is the perfect time to pack up the essentials and head off to the nearest beach. While gathering in groups of people during the pandemic is not okay, gathering the people in your social distancing bubble to take a fun and safe trip to the beach and participate in exciting activities, is. Some fun activities to do at the beach include, volleyball, soccer, racquetball, sun tanning, building sand castles, and so much more.  Adding some upbeat music in the background will also help bring up the vibe for the day.

If keeping yourself busy by playing a bunch of sports and being on your feet playing in the sand all day is not the way you like to spend your time at the beach, you can always stick to the soothing day that consists of burying your feet in the sand while listening to music and sunbathing. Sometimes all a person needs is a little time alone in the sand with some soft tunes in order to relax and disassociate for a little bit.

While everything might still seem a little down, going to the beach and enjoying some alone time will never fail to brighten up anyone’s spirit. There are endless amounts of fun games and activities to do in order to pass a few hours while at the beach. Whether you are out spending a day to yourself or a day with the people in your social distancing bubble, remember that there are ways to keep up with your favorite spring activities while still staying true to guaranteeing the safety of yourself and others around you.
