Juniors and seniors who attended prom on April 12 have great memories to look back at the event that took place at Wolf Lakes Park in Sanger.
Students who attended were checked in at the MBP through their Five Star app by scanning their QR code. The school police dog was brought in to check everyone’s bags and students had to wait till everything was cleared. After getting cleared, students lined up by their buses in the parking lot, got checked in by their attendance for their bus number and headed off to Wolf Lakes.
The bus ride took an hour and a half to get to the location, but once the bus got there, students saw the scenery and were excited to look around the place and couldn’t wait to start their prom. Wolf Lakes had multiple nice areas for pictures to be taken, tables, and a nice lake with a boat ride.
Once students walked their way in, they had the option to vote for their prom king and queen. After students chose their tables to sit at, dinner was served and consisted of tri-tip, corn, mashed potatoes, salad bar, bread and butter, with a table of water and punch for students to serve themselves. Once everyone got their food the DJ played music and continued through the night.
A water boat ride was offered to students to ride around the lake along with two faculty members to chaperone the ride. The line for the ride was long and was almost a half hour wait with students lined up waiting to go on the ride with their friends but was open until the end of prom so students had a chance to go. Giada Camacho (12) loved the boat ride idea and had a good time with her friends. Camacho said, “My favorite part was the boat rides. It was super fun and the venue was beautiful.”
The dance floor was packed up with students dancing to the music with their friend groups and were hyped up with the DJ. The prom king and queen was announced and the royalty winners were Yadira Ventura Martinez (12) and Omar Blas (12). The winner’s received flowers and a crown, and the couple danced in the middle of the dance floor celebrating their win.
Towards getting closer to the end, dessert included a choice of M&M cookies or chocolate cookies with a scoop of ice cream ending the night with sweets before packing up for the night.
Students went all out with their hair, makeup, and mostly wore blue, green, black, or gold dresses to match the theme, “The Night Under The Stars.” The decorations of candles on the tables, white and gold themed around the seating area and lots of green scenery took student’s breath away from how beautiful it was. Friends were happy to spend the night with one another and got a lot of compliments from people they know. My favorite memory of prom was getting to laugh with my friends and get to take nice pictures to remember the night by and just hanging out instead of just at school.
