The yearbook is a time capsule of memories, friendships, and milestones. But behind the amazing pages and carefully chosen photos is the dedicated class, working hard to document the school year. It’s more than just taking pictures, it’s about storytelling, collaboration, and creating a lasting legacy for the entire school community.
Yearbook is a project that brings everyone together. Staff members spend time in class interviewing classmates, gathering their stories, and capturing moments that show who everyone is beyond the classroom. Viewing layouts, picking colors, arranging photos, and writing captions is becoming a way to celebrate everyone’s shared experiences.
The class depends on organization and responsibility. Samira Brown(12), yearbook editor (12) said, “Advice I would give to incoming students would be to have schedules set in advance and be accountable for your mistakes.”
Brown believes that by working together and taking ownership of their roles, students can leave a positive impact on the community.
The yearbook class is also about growth and overcoming challenges. Brown said, “We honestly started a little rocky in the beginning of the school year to settle in and figure out who does what, but now we’ve come a long way and made our yearbook look great so far.” As someone also in yearbook class, I recommend taking the class as well.
Joining the yearbook I expected to be taking photos and just uploading photos to pages, but it also gave me an opportunity to make new friendships and come out of my comfort zone to talk to people and ask questions about different sports and activities. While getting to know people and having a good time going to special events and other exciting things, you connect with the community as well.
