Club Rush Stimulates Student Involvement

Arianna Ramirez, Staff Reporter

Club Rush, an opportunity for clubs all over campus to recruit new members and showcase their up, was held in the Multipurpose building on Wednesday, August 17th. Over 15 clubs were presented.

While our school is highlighted for our excellence in sports, agriculture, and academics; the artists in the Tigers here at LBHS  should not be overlooked. Some well-known clubs include  the Spanish Honor Society, FFA, FBLA, and Academic Decathalon.

The following clubs are also offered on campus: Creative Writing, Drama, Anime Club, and of course, the Art Club. Each offers a completely unique outlet for students to express themselves.

Each club offers fun events for its members.  For example, the Anime Club has an annual trip to the anime convention, Fanime in May, sponsored by fundraising efforts, and item auctions. Weekly activities include watching animes and trivia games when those series are done.  They meet every Friday at lunch in room 413, overseen by Ms. Thacker.

Gay-Straight Alliance is a safe place for our LGBT+ youth here at LBHS. The members share stories, struggles, and support one another. The club also connects with other Gay Straight Alliances in Los Banos. The GSA club meets every lunch in room 37 on Wednesdays.

Drama club meets in room 11 on Mondays at lunch. The Drama department puts on two shows every year.  Their fall production is “The Bottom of the Lake” debuting on November 1st.

All three of these clubs are welcoming fresh-faces with open arms. If you are interested, visit during a meeting and get involved.

Paw Print will showcase more clubs in the future.
