The varsity boys’ soccer team is determined to outperform last year’s results. With a renewed focus on preparation, discipline, and team chemistry, the players enter the season with high hopes and higher expectations. But will their effort be enough to give them an edge in the highly competitive Central California Conference (CCC)?
Coach Salvatier acknowledges that the team still has work to do but believes their dedication is pushing them in the right direction. “The team is far from perfection or ready to fight for that number one spot, but with practice they will gain the knowledge and skills needed to compete in this very competitive league. Our team has been practicing since before the season during summer, ensuring that we can be ready for every team on our schedule,” he said.
Last season, the boys finished with a strong record of 10 wins, 6 losses, and 8 ties good enough to earn them a spot in the 2025 CIF Sac-Joaquin Section Boys Soccer Playoffs. They faced Antelope High School in the first round and narrowly fell 1–0, ending their playoff run but still capping off a successful season.
This year, the team is determined to go further. Senior Bryan Jimenez, said the players are doing everything they can to improve. “To be better than last year, we are working hard by ourselves and with the team, creating team bonding and chemistry to give us the edge against opposing teams. We also work individually to stay healthy, work out consistently, and practice by running,” Jimenez said.
With improved cohesion, stronger training habits, and a shared hunger to advance deeper into the postseason, the varsity team hopes this season will be their breakthrough, with their first game happening against their cross town rivals Pacheco High School on November 11th.
