The Homecoming (Hoco) basketball game between Los Banos High School and Atwater High School brought excitement and school spirit to the gym on game night. Although Los Banos fought hard, they fell to Atwater with a final score of 51–62.
Despite the loss, our student section brought the light. The student section showed up big for the “Jersey” theme, filling the stands and bringing lots of hype and energy throughout the game. Students wore their favorite jerseys and cheered loudly to support the boys varsity basketball team.
The cheerleaders also played a big role in keeping the crowd energized, leading chants and motivating the team from the sidelines. Their support helped keep spirits high even when the game got tough.
Homecoming winners Luna Munguia (12) and Christian Sanchez (12) were announced during the event, adding to the excitement of the night and giving students another reason to celebrate. Luna Munguia shared, “We entered the contest to do something new even if it was out of our comfort zone, and we ended up winning. That’s why I say never be afraid of doing stuff you’re afraid of, you never know what could happen, so enjoy the moment.”
With four games left until the season ends, the Los Banos boys varsity team still has time to finish strong. The school community continues to show strong support, and the team is looking to carry that energy into their remaining games.
