This year there was a change of plan. Instead of our annual Trunk or Treat, students had the first Tent or Treat due to construction in the parking lot where Trunk or Treat is usually held.
Tent or Treat took place on October 25, 2025, on campus. The event was full of fun and excitement for everyone who came.
The night was filled with fun activities, including bounce houses, games, a costume contest, and two haunted houses. The entry was free, but the haunted houses were $15 each ticket per person. Food booth which sold burgers, fries, nachos, popcorn, and drinks. The Tent or Treat also had about twelve themed tents, including clown, Coraline, Snoopy, Sinners, and Beetlejuice.
Ariana Padilla (12), a student who went to Tent or Treat this year said she had a great time. “My Tent or Treat experience this year was fun. There were lots of tents, and they were all unique in their own ways” said Padilla.
The band members were all dressed up in black tee shirts with white wording that said ‘Band.” The haunted houses were two levels of scares, one family friendly which was located in the MPB and a scarier one in the band room. This year’s haunted house theme was inspired by a horror movie which was “Five Nights at Freddies.” The assistant band director Mrs. Shirley Brand mentioned that the new theme they did this year cost more to create but was very worth their time and money. The Haunted Houses were a fundraiser for the band.
Ashlynne Cancino (12), one of the Interact Club officers, shared what it was like to help set up a tent. Her group chose a Coraline theme and worked with DECA Club because they had picked the same idea.
“It took about an hour and a half to set everything up,” Cancino said. “We planned a week in advance so our club members could donate items for the tents.”
The hardest part was putting up the poster boards and black backdrops because it was windy and sprinkling outside. But everyone helped out and worked together. Cancino said it was a lot of fun working with Interact and DECA, and she hopes there will be more events like this in the future.
“Tent or Treat brings families, staff, and club members together by having fun in a safe environment,” she said.
The event was worth the time to see little kids get excited about the holiday.
