The 17th annual car show took place on Feb. 27 during Pride Time and lunch. This event allows students to show off their rides, while letting everyone check out the variety of cars and trucks.
Her brother, Junior Silva, decided to bring his blue GTR so students could see it up close and learn more about it. He was also one of the show’s winners based on the voting.
Silva shared that his interest in cars started when he was younger. He said he used to play video games where he could build and customize cars, and that is what first made him like them. When he finally got his driver’s license, he started saving money so he could buy his dream car he had always wanted.
One of his favorite cars is the GTR. He said the Liberty Walk GTR is one of his most prized cars. He has always liked GTRs because they are known as fast race cars and they look really cool. The GTR he brought to the car show was automatic, but caught a lot of people’s attention. Many students were excited to see a car like that because it is not something seen around town.
“There were lots of students surrounding my GTR which made me happy to see that they were actually interested in my car. Even to the point the students opened up the hood of the car to see the engine.” said Silva.
A reason as to why he wanted to come to this car show was because there was a chance to win a plaque. Another reason was that he wanted students to see his car since it was a bright blue and not something that you often see. He thought it would be fun for students to check it out.
He also hopes his car can inspire other students. Even if they do not like cars, he hopes that it shows them that if they work hard and stay focused they can reach their goals. To him, the most important thing is putting effort into school and working towards your dreams.
